Sometimes rescue stories don’t follow a straight line.
Sometimes, they come full circle.
Lyla was adopted from Good Karma Pet Rescue in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 2022. Everyone celebrated the day she went home; tail wagging, a bright future ahead, but in July 2024, they got a call they weren’t expecting.

Lyla had been found in the home of a dog trainer who had passed away unexpectedly. She wasn’t alone. There were 10 dogs in total. Animal control stepped in, and when Good Karma Pet Rescue got the call, they didn’t hesitate, they went to bring their girl back to the rescue.
They reached out to her original adopter, hoping to learn how Lyla ended up there. Unfortunately, they never received a response.
Lyla is back at the rescue. Still sweet. Still strong. Still searching for her forever home.
Lyla is
About 4.5 years old
Weighs 60 lbs
Strong on leash and needs a confident human parentu!
Full of love, playful energy, and the biggest heart.
Great with other dogs, both big and small, when properly introduced.
Oh and did we mention she LOVES to swim? A home with a pool or someone who enjoys being out on the water? That’s Lyla’s dream life. Give her a float and some sunshine, and she’s in heaven.
She’s ready for a new chapter. One that sticks.
If you or someone you know is looking for a loyal, water-loving companion, Lyla is waiting.
