Conley’s Fight for Comfort

From Cruelty to Hope: Conley's Story.

When Conley was rescued from a cruelty case in rural Louisiana, he had already endured more than most dogs ever should. Found living in filth alongside 29 other dogs and 5 cats, Conley had spent his days in a home so toxic it burned through hazmat suits. The woman who kept him posed as a rescuer, but it was anything but safe. Even her own children lived in the same waste-filled environment.

Tri-County Animal Rescue stepped in and brought Conley to safety in Boca Raton just days before the 4th of July. At 10 years old, he had been let down by humans too many times, but he still wagged his tail.

Once in the shelter, volunteers noticed something else: Conley might be hard of hearing. He didn’t respond when staff entered his kennel, staying curled in his bed until someone gently tapped near him.

Then came even more heartbreaking news. Just weeks later, Tri-County’s veterinarians discovered cancer in Conley’s mouth. He needs treatment and more importantly, he needs a soft place to rest during and after it.

This senior sweetheart has already suffered too much. He deserves more than a kennel floor. He deserves love, peace, and a couch to curl up on.
