Adam’s Story: A Second Chance on Borrowed Time

Updated: Jun 29, 2025

When Adam arrived at the shelter, he was a shell of the dog he was meant to be.

Emaciated, covered with infections, and defeated, he had clearly been wandering as a stray for far too long. Alone, hungry, and unseen. Despite the odds stacked against him, the shelter staff saw a flicker of light still in his eyes and gave him the care he so desperately needed. They fed him, bathed him, and slowly, Adam started to come back to life.

But shelters are overwhelmed. And after some time, Adam was quietly moved to the euthanasia list. His clock started ticking—again.

In the final hour, just before it was too late, a kind man stepped in and saved Adam’s life.

This man didn’t hesitate, he just acted. He brought Adam home, gave him a soft place to rest, and helped him rediscover joy.

Adam’s goofy personality quickly came to the surface. He’s now 3 years old, neutered, and full of love, energy, and tail wags. He adores affection, plays well with female dogs, and will do just about anything for a belly rub!

But here’s the truth: Adam still needs help.

While the man who rescued him gave him a second chance, he’s not in a position to provide the long-term care Adam deserves. Adam’s rescue was only the beginning and now, he needs a forever home.

A real one.

One with consistency, love, and the resources to help him thrive.

Adam is currently located in 📍Fort Lauderdale, FL and is ready to meet the person who will give him the life he was always meant to have.
