UPDATE! From Countdown to Forever: Bumble’s Happy Ending 🐝

Updated: Jul 21, 2025

UPDATE! 7/21/25

Bumble has officially been adopted! After being rescued from euthanasia on Easter Sunday and spending months in the loving care of his foster mom, Maria, Bumble’s story was shared on Facebook and that’s where his new forever family found him. He reminded them of a dog they once loved, and the connection was instant. Today, Bumble is home, safe, and surrounded by love.

Bumble was never supposed to make it past Easter.

He’s a 3-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix with a stocky little frame, soulful eyes, and a heart full of love. On Easter Sunday 2025, the shelter scheduled him for euthanasia, likely thinking no one would come for him that day. His only crime? Severe kennel stress. After being brought in as a stray, Bumble didn’t do well in confinement. We suspect he may have spent too much of his life in a crate or a small space, this poor angel panics when confined, and that stress landed him on “the list.”

But someone did come. A volunteer’s plea on social media reached the right person. A literal angel drove to the shelter on Easter and pulled Bumble, giving him the second chance he deserved. We were all overjoyed, until we learned the catch: if Bumble doesn’t find a forever home by July 20, he’ll be forced to return to the shelter… and likely won’t make it back out.

That’s where you come in.

🐶 Meet Bumble:

  • Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / Boxer mix

  • Age: 3 years old

  • Weight: ~58 lbs (underweight)

  • Neutered, UTD on shots, housebroken

  • Knows sit, down, paw, and “be adorable” on command

  • LOVES toys, treats, fetch, and cuddles (he's a true lap dog at heart!)

  • Good with people of all ages and gentle with the elderly

  • With dogs: he matches their energy. Plays hard, but appropriately when guided. Seems to do better with larger dogs. Introductions required.

  • Energy level: Moderate. Loves to play, but also happy to just chill with his person.

His foster has gone above and beyond. Bumble is learning, healing, and becoming the dog of someone’s dreams, all because one person stepped up.

However, fostering is temporary.

Unless we find him a home or another rescue can officially pull him and keep him safe, Bumble will have to return to the shelter by July 20.

This is the power of sharing. One video, one post, one click changed Bumble’s life once. We’re asking you to help us do it again.
